Classes started - I am officially a college student again!

I am 44 years old... what was I thinking? Today, I am nervous and scared (if I am being honest), but I am also excited. I am nervous and scared about the journey ahead of me over the next 16 to 21 months! Only 16 months if I can take classes during next summer's semester... 21 months if I can! **fingers crossed At the same time, I am freaking out a little; I can't but feel excited to finally be going to college for the degree I wanted and the journey that will come with it! I elected to take six 8-week long classes this semester, three during the first 8 weeks and three during the last 8 weeks! Wish me luck!

I have 3 A's so far!

Woohoo!! Just look at my grades now that they are all posted for my first three classes... I got all A's! Off to a great start... I just wish there was more time this weekend to rest before my next three classes start on Monday...

My next 3 Classes started...

Is it Christmas yet? My three classes for the last 8 weeks of the Fall 2023 semester started today; one of them is my ENG101 class. Writing is not my thing, but the professor seems cool! Just hoping I can keep up my A's this semester! Another Debbie Downer moment, next semester I am taking my EMG102 requirement...

First Semester DONE!

It's almost Christmas, and I just turned in my last final assignment for the three classes I took the past 8 weeks! Time to relax and wait to see my final grades, then Christmas, and then a much-needed break until the Spring 2024 semester starts!

4.0 BABY!

OMG... just checked... now that grades have been posted... I got straight A's this semester; I have a 4.0 GPA... as a slacker in high school all those years ago, I never saw a 4.0 associated with my name! I am so proud of myself. I am on cloud 9, and I know I got this. I am as nervous/scared as I was at the beginning of the semester. I am so glad I returned to school!

Boo!!! I wasn't ready for my vacation to be over yet! BUT I'm still on cloud 9 about getting all A's last semester and earning my first 4.0! Ready to do the damn thing and keep it going this semester!

Invited to join Phi Theta Kappa (PKT) Woot Woot!

WoOt WoOt is right, baby! Today, I received an invitation to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Not gonna lie, I had no clue what it was, I had to google it! But now that I know what it is, I am going to look into joining it... I earned it... so why not make it real! Just have to try and figure out how to pay the one-time $80 membership fee...

WOW...Presidents Honor List!!

O...M...G!!! - I received notification today that because of my grades from last semester, I made the President's Honor List! Kinda like PKT; I didn't even know that was a thing... but I am feeling very proud of myself... first PKT, and now this! I received notice about being on the President's Honor List via email with an attachment of the award letter. It asked me if I wanted an official copy on the college's letterhead, ummmm... YES PLEASE!!

SPRING BREAK HAS STARTED!

I Just turned in my last assignment that was due before the start of spring break... so HAPPY right now, I need a break from school! Not that I am going anywhere special; I am just exhausted! Unfortunately, I couldn't schedule myself this semester like last semester, where I took three classes during the first half and three more during the last half. I am taking 6 classes again this semester, and I DON'T like it... nope... no, sir! In fact, I dislike it so much that it was the subject of the second of four papers I have to write for my ENG102 class this semester. Anyway, enough complaining... it's SPRING BREAK, BABY!!! Time to sleep... HAHA!!!

NO NO NO!!! If I had a spray bottle full of water, I would be squirting it at my computer right now! The past 10ish days went by way too fast! But the semester is already half over, and I am still keeping up the A's...

Officially a member of PTK!

Today I gladly paid money I didn't have to spend... but I do not regret it! I qualified for a scholarship to cover the cost of PTK. Last week, I received my official letter from the college President, and today, I received my official certificate of membership from PKT. The money was spent buying some decent certificate-size frames, putting my letter and certificate in, and hanging them on the wall above my computer desk! I am proud of myself and want to show them off. Still, I will use them as a reminder, for when I feel unsure about continuing my studies, I can look at them and get the boost I need to return to work!

Goodbye Spring 2024 Semester!

I did it! Another semester down! I am pretty confident that I got all A's again! I will not know for sure for a few more days. In fact, this website is one of my finals for it, and because I am typing this right now, it means I haven't turned it in to be graded yet... to be continued...
