Hey there, you found me. But who is Nathaniel? For starters, please just call me Nate.

I’m a creative-minded web designer and front-end developer with a passion for crafting clean, functional, and visually engaging websites. I always design with my client and their user in mind. Whether I’m building from scratch or refining a site that just needs some polish, I aim for clarity, personality, and usability in every detail.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always loved designing things — from imagining big ideas to plotting out plans and finally watching them come to life. In high school, that meant getting into graphic design. Not long after, I found web design. Back then (the late ’90s), it was a much different world. I took the only two HTML classes my local community college offered, and even tried to relocate to continue my education — but life had other plans. I worked various jobs over the years, but the passion for web design never left. I kept learning on my own and eventually, during the COVID era, I realized I had waited long enough. I jumped into an online program and earned my AAS in Web Design & Development — graduating with Highest Distinction and a 4.0 GPA. And yep, I can be picky about how things look… until they feel just right!

Throughout my program, I gained hands-on experience building websites and refining front-end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and even a little Python. I also dove into PHP, MySQL, WordPress, and UI/UX fundamentals. I also worked on projects involving SQL, C++, and object-oriented programming, and I’m currently building my knowledge in C# through Udemy.

Beyond coursework, I’ve applied my skills to real-world projects — like creating a live site for a client and developing this very portfolio site from the ground up — and I have enjoyed the process every step of the way!

One of my current passion projects is a scholarship initiative I’m developing for high school students. It will require a robust, dynamic website — and it’s just one more reason I continue sharpening both my frontend and backend skills.

I’m currently pursuing full-time opportunities, and I’m open to staying local or relocating—whether that’s elsewhere in the U.S. or somewhere that offers a new adventure aboard. Ideally, I’d love to find something remote that gives me the flexibility to relocate when the time is right. Until then, I’m happy to connect from wherever I am and help build something amazing.
